The Situation: When Somos1 contacted us about their new venue, their visions were big, their aspirations were big, and their passion was bigger. The only problem... the budget didn't match. The difficult question we had to ask was: How do we maximize their budget to accommodate for all of their wants and needs?

Pastor Uilson Nascimento (head pastor) and the worship team decided to improve the quality of worship in their new space, which is more than double the size of the previous one. They wanted an infrastructure that could support the many ministries they had envisioned. Among them: Praise and Worship, Kids Praise and Worship, Drama, Dance, Translation Ministry (Spanish and Portuguese), Special events, Tech Crew, Children's Church, Food Ministry (Yes, they have an outreach ministry with food! Unfortunately, we were not involved with this one). They also wanted the ability to distribute sound to the rest of the facility.

Our Solution: Seeing their passion to accomplish their dreams, we tackled the budget problem head on. We decided to target the essential ministries first since it would benefit the time of worship the most. Audio and lighting and distribution were the main points of discussion. Basic video infrastructure was put in place for future improvements. Below is a brief description of some of the systems.

Audio system: Allen&Heath Console, Sennheiser Wired and Wireless Microphone Systems, Audix Drum Microphones, Crown Amplifiers, Biamp System Processor, Radian Speakers, HearBack Monitor System and etc. (Detailed equipment list below).

Lighting system: Lightronics console, Chauvet Lighting dimmers and LED lights and various par cans donated from other churches and/or church members.

Video system: A PC (donated from a member) running MediaShout, with Sanyo 3100 lumens projector and a Da-Lite projection screen. Cameras are coming in the near future.

Translation system: Listen portable system with the capability of two language translations at the same time. Services are done in Portuguese and translated to Spanish and English.

With the help of a number of church members the labor cost was close to nothing and equipment costs were well under $20,000 (twenty thousand) dollars. As a result of this installation the member participation of the Somos1 Ministry has more than tripled and the number of visitors and church memberships keep increasing. We are proud to have played a part in helping make their aspirations a reality.
