When Somos1 contacted us about their new space, the visions were big, the aspirations were big, the passion was bigger, but the budget didn't match. The difficult question was: How do we accommodate for all of their wants and needs without breaking the bank or the hearts?

Pastor Uilson Nascimento (head pastor) and the worship team decided to improve the quality of worship in the new space, which is more the double the size of the last one. They wanted an infrastructure that could support the many ministries they had envisioned. Among them: Praise and Worship, Kids Praise and Worship, Drama, Dance, Translation Ministry (Spanish and Portuguese), Special events, Tech Crew, Children's Church, Food Ministry (yes, they actually have an outreach ministry with food and no, we were not involved with this one) and etc. They also wanted the ability to distribute sound to the rest of the facility. Since the budget was very small but the hearts were very big, we decided to target the essential ministries that would benefit the time of worship the most. Audio and lighting and distribution were the main points of discussion. Basic video infrastructure is in place for future improvements. Bellow is a brief description of some of the systems.

Audio system is comprised of: Allen&Heath Console, Sennheiser Wired and Wireless Microphone Systems, Audix Drum Microphones, Crown Amplifiers, Biamp System Processor, Radian Speakers, HearBack Monitor System and etc. (Detailed equipment list bellow).

Lighting system has: Lightronics console, Chauvet Lighting dimmers and LED lights and various par cans donated from other churches and/or church members.

Video system uses a PC donated from a member running MediaShout, with Sanyo 3100 lumens projector and a Da-Lite projection screen. Cameras are coming in the near future.

Translation system used a Listen portable system with the capability of two language translations at the same time. Services are done in Portuguese and translated to Spanish and English.

With the help of a number of church members the labor cost was close to nothing and equipment costs were well under $20,000 (twenty thousand) dollars. As a result of this installation the member participation of the before mentioned ministry has more than tripled since installation. Not to mention the increase in church membership and visitor. What a joy we find in success stories like these.
